Association Description

The Alaska Occupational Therapy Association (AKOTA) is a non-profit organization that represents the interests of occupational therapy practitioners and students of occupational therapy, and to advance the quality of occupational therapy services within the State of Alaska. The Alaska Occupational Therapy Association is a state affiliate of the national professional association, the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).

Mission Statement

The mission of the Alaska Occupational Therapy Association is to serve its members in achieving excellence in healthcare by promoting quality occupational therapy services, enhance professional identity, providing quality continuing education, and foster, facilitate, and encourage networking opportunities within the State of Alaska.

Vision Statement

The vision of Alaska Occupational Therapy Association is to support and advance the expertise for the profession of Occupational Therapy across Alaska by providing resources, education knowledge and information for the members in order to meet the dynamic needs of a diverse and global society.

Contributions to section 501(c)(6) organizations are not deductible as charitable contributions on the donor’s federal income tax return. They may be deductible as trade or business expenses if ordi­nary and necessary in the conduct of the taxpayer’s business.
